Quyen Nguyen
Founder/Counselor
As an expert in university and graduate admissions for international students and families, Quyen has helped hundreds of students gain acceptances to the most selective universities around the world. She is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, and has served as a member of its Global and Graduate MBA Committees. She has also served on committees and mentored colleagues as a professional member of the International Association for College Admission Counseling.
Quyen is from the U.S. where she earned an Ed.M. from Harvard University and dual degrees in music and kinesiology from Iowa State University on a full academic scholarship. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship. Quyen has significant international experience, having lived in the U.S., Vietnam, Thailand, and Colombia, and having worked with students from over a dozen countries from nearly every continent. Her clients tend to think of her as a life coach and mentor as much as an admissions expert.
Mai Nardone
Essay Specialist
A graduate of Middlebury College and Columbia University and having published with Penguin Random House, Mai combines his professional writing background with over a decade of counseling experience to guide students through the application essay process.
A Bangkok native and a one-time international school student, Mai is especially attuned to the challenges of applying to American universities from abroad. He relies on a workshop-style process of critique and revision that does not cross ethical boundaries. He enjoys working with students from brainstorming through final edits to craft compelling essays tailored to their top-choice programs.
Jason Morgan
Essay Specialist
With over twenty years of experience as both a college admissions counselor and private tutor, Jason has helped thousands of aspiring undergraduate and graduate students gain admission to dozens of top universities, including Yale, Cornell, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown, UC Berkeley, University of Chicago, Northwestern, Stanford Graduate School of Business, London Business School, Bocconi, HEC, the Columbia-Sciences Po dual degree program, and many others.
With clients on nearly every continent, he understands very well the specific needs of international applicants and is equally adept with admissions to both U.S. and European universities. He holds an M.A. in rhetoric and composition from the Catholic University of America, where he earned a four-year full-tuition scholarship, and studied for a year at Oxford University in England. Before entering education, Jason began his career as an assistant at the Washington Post, worked as a ghostwriter, and published fifteen books. He specializes in the essay-writing portion of the application process and greatly enjoys helping clients present themselves in uniquely personal ways to admissions committees.

Alexandra is an ICF Professional Certified Coach with over 1,500 client hours and 10+ years of global experience in HR. Originally from Russia, she has lived abroad for the past 12 years in five countries, experiencing firsthand the journey of cultural adaptation and starting ‘from scratch’ several times. This personal experience has deepened her understanding of the importance of a strong support network.
As a certified embodiment coach, Alexandra is dedicated to supporting students and recent graduates through their educational and early career journeys. Leveraging her extensive international career, she provides tailored guidance to help young professionals and their families adapt to change while reinventing their sense of self in new cultural and professional contexts.
With experience working with clients from over 20 countries, Alexandra excels in navigating the complexity of personal and professional transitions, addressing both cultural intricacies and individual challenges. Her career spans Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, India, and Russia, bringing a wealth of international expertise to her coaching practice.
Mario Triviño
Test Prep Tutor
Mario is a teacher with a strong background in science and languages: He majored in physics, mathematics, and electronics engineering; he also holds a minor degree in German. Mario has been a test prep tutor for over 6 years, helping hundreds of students achieve their target scores in a myriad of tests, such as SAT, ACT, GRE, and GMAT.
A Colombian, a language geek, and an insatiable learner, Mario loves the opportunity to get to know people from all over the world. He has worked with students from Colombia, China, Germany, Korea, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, the US, and more. His students love his easygoingness, his sense of humor, and the science-backed learning strategies he shares with them.
Emily Wu
Family Relations Liaison
Emily is originally from China, and now lives in New York. She received her undergraduate degree from Australia, and has since connected with thousands of Chinese families, helping them find best-fit English language schools and programs. She has worked extensively with ex-admissions officers from several Ivy+ institutions such as UPenn and Yale. Emily specifically supports Chinese families working with SummitEd.
